The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention of dysfunction, injury, pain and physical disorders of the soft tissues and joints by manual and physical methods to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical function to relieve pain and promote health.

BC's Registered Massage Therapists (RMTs) are among the most educated and highly trained professionals in their field. To become an RMT in BC students must complete extensive training at an accredited college.

Standard educational requirements include comprehensive studies in health sciences such as anatomy, physiology, pathology, kinesiology and neuroanatomy. Other studies include clinical sciences such as manual skills, orthopedics, remedial exercise, hydrotherapy and patient education. The management of chronic diseases, injuries and the effects of long-term stress are also studied extensively.

Your RMT is trained in rehabilitative exercise such as hydrotherapy, stretching, strengthening, and postural exercises. Your RMT is committed to providing the very best in one-on-one patient care.

Nick Nicola, RMT/Clinic Manager.

After playing professional soccer in Germany, Nick moved to Toronto, Ont. to pursue a career in Massage Therapy. Nick graduated from CCMH in 2004 where he practiced for 12 years working with a variety of high level athletes and business professionals. In 2014 he made the move to Whistler, BC where he built a full time practice in the Spa at Nita Lake Lodge, ranked Whistler’s #1 spa. While in Whistler Nick was in charge of the Massage Therapy team for Ironman Whistler. Nick made the move to Cultus Lake to partner with Michelle to fulfill their dreams of opening a health and wellness centered treatment facility in Chilliwack. Nick’s approach to treatment is assertive and effective. He utilizes a variety of techniques with an emphasis on orthopedics and sports therapy. With Nick’s experience in both a clinic and spa atmosphere he brings the best of world class techniques integrated with the ‘little things’ to bring patients comfort and make them feel at home. Communication during treatment is an important aspect of Nick’s approach to therapy. When Nick isn’t at the clinic (again…which is rare) you can find him out on the golf course catching some sun and perfecting his swing. Nick also enjoys spending time with his family biking, camping, skiing, travelling or teaching his boys how to play soccer and swing a proper club.
